Herrera Navarro identifies Voltaire as author and Ramón de la Cruz as translator.
Claim in drop title that work is a translation from English is probably due to Voltaire's having published it with a fictional attribution: "par Mr. Hume, pretre ecossais, traduite en français par Jerome Carré" (London [i.e., Geneva], 1760).
Publication date based on when Sellent first began to work for Piferrer's firm, according to Comas i Güell, and Eulàlia Piferrer's period of activity.
