imprint ☜☞ pie de imprenta
A book is primarily identified by its author and title. The production aspects of a book, known as the imprint, are comprised of place of printing, the name of the publisher/printer, and the date. In earlier sueltas it was generally placed at the end of the play (and there properly called the colophon), later this information appeared on the title page. A large percentage of the sueltas in this survey lack an imprint altogether, others may lack only one of the three components, most frequently the date.
