The original French 1765 work Les Amans malheureux, ou le Comte de Comminge by François-Thomas-Marie de Baculard d'Arnaud became the basis of Giacomo Antonio Gualzetti’s Italian adaptation entitled Gli amori di Commingio. Comella’s work is the 1804 Spanish “free” translation from the Italian.Publication information suggested by the printer's published list of Comedias found on p. [16] of: Comella, Luciano Francisco.
